Kununurra for the last time and headed west. Spent 2 nights at Home Valley
Station, a station stay on the Pentecost River. Stayed at the station
campground as we heard the bush camp was very close to the river! The homestead
had a nice pool and we had a swim before checking out the river. Tried some
fishing here, Toby had a hit on his lure, but still no Barra. Excellent views
of the Cockburn Ranges from the river. Got away early made camp at 1.30 right
on the Gibb River where it crosses the Mitchell Falls/Kalumburu Rd. Beautiful
camp here, the boys enjoyed a swim/bath!!!
some of the supplies when we left Kununurraat the turn off to the Gibb River Rd
These work well here...have only seen cloud's 2 since being away!

Hi Woods FAMILY!
ReplyDeleteWe're alive! We extend our HUGEST apologies for not replying sooner. Our projector has been out of action for about a month and a half now and we haven't been able to check out your wonderful BLOG. We are extremely SUPER DOOPER jealous of all the wonderful experiences you are having. How is Sam's knee? We really liked the photos of Toby driving the boat and sunbathing on the fold out deck chair. That crab was massive! We all liked the photos of the hermit crabs. Scary stuff about the brown snake on the waterfall BE CAREFUL!!
Our updates:
Camp at Glenhaven was awesome! Highlights included the low ropes course, problem solving, sports, making damper, toasting marshmallows, the disco and the talent quest! Mrs Olive drove the bus on the way home.....we got a flatty. Not Mrs Olive’s driving this time. We were sad on the side of the road. We were cold. Miss Goudie was mad. 45 minutes on the side of the road. Not Fun!! Mrs Olive made us sing the telephone song way too many times!
Miss Nellie (our student teacher) was with us for 6 weeks. She was brilliant. The kids loved her and we all learnt a whole lot of cool things about FRICTION and FRACTIONS! Reminds me of a song......There's a FRACTION TOO MUCH FRICTION. (Sue, Mick?? Split Ends I reckon)
We'll keep in touch every Friday. Sorry it's taken so long to be in touch.
Be safe, drive with care!
Big Hugs
Team GOUDIE
PS-We are reading our current AL text about Goannas! If you could bundle one of those water monitors up and bring it back with you so we can learn about its behaviour and movement that would be fabulous. Toby, you'll be able to tell us all about them! What an expert!
ReplyDeleteYou all look very happy!
